Fasting – Have I Lost My Mind?
Oh yeah, I’m throwing out another F word but this time its Fasting. About a month ago I began listing to the PodCast “Fasting Talk” with Doctor Jason Fung, Jimmy Moore and featuring Megan Ramos. I absolutely fell in love with the content and jumped in feet first, and added fasting as part of my overall health weight loss strategy. I haven’t been disappointed.
I’d already been doing Intermittent Fasting and using keto coffee, and I was have some good success. Ive lost a total of 55 lbs, probably 25 doing keto but Ive dropped down 4 inches off my waist going from size 44 pants down to size 40.
Even as I’m writing this post I’m in the midst of trying to complete a 3 day fast with my wonderful fiancĂ© Sarah — we are on day one. We did a month of alternate day fasting, three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Fridays) going for 24 hour periods without eating. I had mixed success, I lost several pounds initially then seemed to Plateau. I have to keep remembering that this is all new to me, I’m still using training wheels and still haven’t done a water only fast. Anyway, day 1 of this round of fasting wasn’t too bad.
We spent a week “feasting” I mean I ate a lot, funny thing about doing fasting is that I seem to get full quicker. We purposely took a break for a week and just ate like normal and that felt a little strange to be eating all the time (yes, I know that sounds strange — It’s strange to me as well).
Day 2 is suppose to be the hardest, I hope they are wrong. I will post and update tomorrow.
