Extended Day Fasting Experiment Day 2 – Everyone Looks Like A Chicken Leg

Have We Lost Our Minds?
I was thinking about that last night when I was at the 55 hour mark of not eating — I was HUNGRY!!! From everything I’ve read day 2 of an extended fast is the worse, and it actually wasn’t that bad. Some people may wonder why do a Fast, why would you stop eating on purpose. Well as many of you know I’ve been trying to lose weight, a 100 pounds to be exact or down to size 34 pants whichever happens sooner. From my perspective fasting is just another option on my weight loss and health journey. I look at Fasting as another tool that has actually been around for centuries and cultures and societies all over the world have used it for various reason, without difficulties. If you want to read up on Fasting and its benefits a good book to read is “The Complete Guide” to Fasting, by Dr. Jason Fung and Jimmy Moore.
So How Was Day 2?
All and all day 2 wasnt really that bad. I did get hungry! The hunger kind of came in waves, and I would either drink some water, tea or bulletproof coffee. Since we are new to fasting we also used some homemade beef bone broth to help get through – that was about 72 calories per cup. I only had two cups over the entire 3 day fast.
You know hunger is really a conditioned response, we often eat because we think we are suppose too. We also eat as a cultural thing, out of habit, or because it’s “time to eat.” Since I’ve started using fasting as a tool, I’ve actually gained a greater sense of control over my body, and desires.
Anyway I survived day 2! I’m super excited about ending the fast on Day 3.
